HUNDREDS of Scouts will be flocking to Shedfield for the biannual District Camp.

More than 600 Scouts from the Portsmouth Scout group will be leaving tomorrow for a three-day adventure at Lyons Copse, Shedfield.

The young people will have the opportunity to take part in more than 25 activities including climbing, air rifle shooting and zorbing.

Dan Hickin, camp leader, said: ‘Whether you want to get involved with sports such as kayaking or archery, learn new skills like first aid or DIY, or simply meet new friends, Scouting has something for everyone.

‘That is what camp is all about.’

This year, the public will be able to listen live as Express FM will be broadcasting from the camp on Saturday.

Tom Cole, 17, from the 22nd Portsmouth Scouts said: ‘Scouting gives me somewhere safe to go where I can have fun, challenge myself and make life-long friendships.

‘It has helped me be more confident.’
