The recent unpredictable weather in Portsmouth is set to continued after another weather warning for high winds was issued for the area.

The Met Office has warned people to expect wind speeds of up to 80mph on Monday night and into Tuesday morning.

Forecasters said the extreme conditions were being caused by strong winds being carried from the English Channel inland.

This latest weather warning is valid from 1am to 9am on Tuesday morning.

The Met Office has asked people to be aware of the risk of damage to trees and disruption to transport, and of large waves coming onto sea fronts.

It comes as a bin lorry was reportedly ‘blown over’ on the M27 today, injuring three people.
