The supermarket will introduce the eight chilli-rated curry to its stores in Portsmouth, Gosport and Horndean.

Flaming Fiery Phaal was created after customers voiced complaints that the previous hottest curry, Volcanic Vindaloo, was not spicy enough.

Chefs from the supermarket put their recipe together after visiting Bangladeshi restaurants in Birmingham.

The curry contains scorpion chillies, which tops the chilli ranking Scoville Heat Scale, as well naga and green chillies.

Rich Clancy, from Morrisons Portsmouth, said: '˜We love to hear back from customers and were happy to take on the challenge.

'˜The difficulty when making a phaal is to make sure it's got as much flavour as it has heat. But we think we've pulled it off.'

The curry is currently in stores for £2.'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹
