A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured in a crash on Portsdown Hill.

The 28-year-old man was riding his black Triumph Daytona when it crashed with a black Jaguar driven by a 55-year-old man at just before 3.30pm on Portsdown Hill Road.

The accident happened at the entrance to the viewpoint car park on Sunday.

The motorcyclist was thrown some distance by the impact and is being treated at the Queen Alexandra Hospital for his injuries.

Police say there were lots of people around at the time and several came to the man’s assistance.

Officers would like to thank them for their help.

They would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the accident or who may have filmed it or taken still pictures.
