A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital today after hitting a car.
The rider of an orange Yamaha motorcycle was in collision with a blue Hyundai in Longfield Avenue, Fareham.
Hampshire police were called at 7.44am, and the road was closed in both directions until 9.15am.
South Central Ambulance Service (Scas) sent one ambulance and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was also scrambled.
A Scas spokesman said: ‘We were called at 7.44am to a car versus motorcycle incident.
‘One person was flown to Southampton General Hospital with leg and head injuries.’
Police say the injuries are not life-threatening.
