A motorcyclist was killed in an accident in Boarhunt this afternoon.

The crossroads at Staples Cross was closed in all directions while police investigated the crash.

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the accident involving a Triumph motorbike and a green Landrover Defender on the B2177 at Staples Cross at 1.30pm.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s from the Portsmouth area, died at the scene.

No-one else was seriously injured in the accident.

Anyone who saw what happened is urged to contact Sergeant Gabriel Snuggs from the Eastleigh Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting Operation Golan.
