MEON Valley MP George Hollingbery has visited Wickham Fire Station to meet crew and learn about a new technique to help lift people who have fallen over.

He was shown a demonstration of equipment that uses cushions that can be inflated with air to lift up a casualty and other blue light services can call upon the kit, if needed.

The MP said: ‘It was a real pleasure to meet the firefighters and learn more about their work and what they are doing to help other organisations, like the ambulance service, by using this equipment – Hampshire Fire and Rescue is a very forward-thinking organisation, as my visit showed.’
