MP meets up with charity

Portsmouth South MP Flick Drummond recently met the Defence Medical Welfare Service to find out what the organisation is doing to support veterans.

The charity provides medical welfare support to the armed forces community and other frontline staff, across the UK and abroad.

It is the only welfare charity that deploys to areas of conflict alongside troops on the frontline and its work grew significantly during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The charity will continue to play a vital role in providing welfare services for the armed forces.

Mrs Drummond said: ‘It was a great pleasure to meet some of the officers from the Defence Medical Welfare Service who do so much to help our service personnel.’
