MP raises charity cash with a raffle

AN MP raised more than £500 for two good causes after staging a raffle at an annual event.

Conservative MP for Havant Alan Mak donated more than £250 to his borough’s Royal British Legion (RBL) and the Southern Domestic Abuse service after raising cash at his yearly Small Business Awards.

Handing the cash over in the same year the RBL will take all surviving Second World War veterans on a free remembrance tour, Mr Mak said: ‘I’ve worked closely with the charity since I was first elected – it’s so important that we recognise and thank those who have served their country in conflict.’
