THE Mary Rose Museum is in the running for a number of awards.
The Historic Dockyard attraction has been short-listed for three of the Museum + Heritage Awards, including in the Best Innovation, Best Marketing and Best Permanent Exhibition categories.
The nominations focus on the museum’s multimillion-pound relaunch in July 2016 and its Mary Rose Revealed exhibition.
The launch unveiled a new-look setting for Henry VIII’s flagship, allowing visitors to admire the panoramic views of the ship from all nine galleries. It saw the Mary Rose brought back to life with film projections of the crew going about their everyday work in both peacetime and wartime.
The Mary Rose Museum has also been chosen for The World Travel Award for Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2017.
The museum will see itself up against world-famous names such as La Sagrada Familia, the Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum in Rome.
These awards celebrate excellence in all sectors across the global travel and tourism industry.

And earlier this week it was named runner-up in the Large Visitor Attraction category at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
These awards have been running for 27 years and represent the highest accolade that can be received in English tourism, honouring businesses that show a high-quality in customer service, while recognising their quality and innovation.
The museum went head-to-head with The Roman Baths and Pump Room in Bath, and Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire.
