ALL things steampunk will be celebrated at a museum for a two-day event.
The Submarine Museum, in Gosport, will be hosting the Subaquatic Steampunk Weekend later this month.
The popular event, being held at the Royal Navy site of HMS Alliance, will have a range of activities for people who love the genre.
It is hoping to build on last year’s successes by having more on offering for people attending.
For the event, the museum itself will be transformed with gadgets, steam-powered technology and other items from the Victorian era.
There will also be live acts and performances throughout the weekend to entertain visitors who are invited to dress in their best Steampunk attire.
A spokesman from the Submarine Museum, off Haslar Road, said: ‘This year’s weekend will feature a new music stage with more acts on the bill than before.
‘This includes performances from Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers, Ichabod Steam and Victor and the Bully.
'Visitors will be treated to a Steampunk fashion show and busy market, as well as refreshments at a gin and beer tent.’
As well as the music there will also be a games room with steampunk board gaming provided by Blue Donut Studios, tea duelling, a scrapheap challenge, steampunk 101 talk and a shooting gallery.
People attending the ticketed event will be also able to look around the Submarine Museum to see displays of some of the earliest developments in submarine engineering.
The spokesman added: ‘Highlights of museum include HMS Holland I, built in the closing days of the Victorian age, and a chance to go aboard HMS Alliance, the only remaining British submarine from the Second World War era.’
The Subaquatic Steampunk Weekend is on September 29 and September 30.
Full weekend tickets are available to book online at £18 for adults and £13 for children, with single day tickets also available.
