Museums across Portsmouth are offering a range of attractions over the Christmas period and into the new year.

At City Museum, the Alien Invasion Exhibtion continues until January 23, with a family Christmas trail, and from 10am -5pm until January 2, youngsters at the same venue can make festive items.

Southsea Castle will open from December 28-January 2 from 10am-4pm for Christmas visits, and the D-Day Museum, on Clarence Esplanade, will show two 45 minute films of the worst air raid to hit Portsmouth, on January 16.

On January 20, Portsmouth Museums and Records Society hosts The Battle of the Somme lecture by historian Charles Haskell, also at the D-Day Museum, and from January 21-February 13 No Child's Play at City Museum will tell stories of children who were hidden from the Nazis during the Holocaust.
