PARTS of a minesweeper were cleared from a waterway.

The Royal Navy sent a bomb disposal team to the bridge over Alver Road, at the junction of Dolphin Crescent, in Gosport, yesterday afternoon.

They were responding after calls came in last week about metal in the creek.

A spokeswoman said: ‘We sent a team to clear the metal from an old minesweeper found in the water.’
