GET your cameras at the ready – it’s nearly time for The News One Christmas Day photography competition.
Just like One Summer’s Day contest, the rules are simple.
Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing on Christmas Day, we want you to take a photo that sums up the day and then send it to us.
If the day is all about Christmas dinner, then send us a picture of you carving the turkey or chopping the potatoes.
Or is the day more about family? If so, send a picture of everyone in their Christmas jumpers or Father Christmas hats.
Whether it’s the kids opening their stockings or parents snoozing in the afternoon, send it in to us.
Last year’s winner was grandmother-of-two Beverley Underwood.
Her photograph of grandson Callum Outen underneath wrapping paper won it for the judges.
Beverley, from Hursley Road, in Leigh Park, Havant, said: ‘I do a lot of the picture competitions in The News like One Summer’s Day and One Christmas Day.
‘The competition is great because Christmas Day is always fun and people have their different traditions.’
If our judges pick out your entry, you’ll win a £100 voucher from Garsons.
Garsons in Fontley Road, Titchfield has been judged as having the best Christmas display in Hampshire. The award from the Garden Centre Association (GCA) ranks them top for Christmas displays, ambiance, decorations and gifts.
Visitors can see a pair of real reindeer in the garden centre every day until 1pm on Christmas Eve.
The winning photo will also be featured in The News, along with the best of the other entries.
To take part, email your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, address, a daytime/mobile phone number, a description of the picture and who is in it. Closing date for entries is midnight on Tuesday, December 30.
If you’ve got any funny or quirky Christmas Day video footage, we’d like to see that as well – the deadline is the same – and may show it at portsmouth.co.uk.
