New charity wins award for its work with families

A CHARITY that helps bereaved families remember their lost children has won an award for its work.

Remember My Baby won the Cherished Keepsake category at the fourth annual Butterfly Awards, held earlier this month in Worcester, to recognise and champion survivors of baby loss.

The charity offers a gift of baby remembrance photography to parents experiencing the loss of their baby before, during or shortly after birth.

It launched two years ago, and more than 700 remembrance photography sessions have already been provided to families who have lost a baby.

Jo Littler, from Havant, has recently become a volunteer for the charity and is hoping to raise awareness of the work it does for bereaved parents.

Jo, a photographer, said the charity’s goal is to offer the service to all parents suffering the loss of their baby in every hospital and birth centre across the UK.

It currently operates in 75 maternity units and NICUs across the UK.
