A NEW Easter festival will grace Gosport this weekend.

The event will have feature folk, skiffle, blues, shanties and more at the Masonic Hall in Clarence Road on Sunday and Monday.

It comes as a regular Easter festival in Gosport and Fareham is not on this year.

Artists including Portsmouth’s Reet Petite & Gone, George Wilson, Shep Woolley, The Portsmouth Shanty Men, Walker Broad, Dicey Riley, Pete Quin, The Pompey Pluckers and Victory Morris will keep people entertained.

On Monday night there will be special sea song and shanty session to remember Clive ‘Sooty’ Broughton, who was a founder member of the Portsmouth Shanty Men.
