HELP is at hand for people who are not able to visit a dentist – they can come to you.

The NHS has introduced a new home service to improve dental access for those who struggle to get to a surgery.

It means people who are housebound can now get dental check-ups and treatment in the comfort of their own home.

The dental team from Hampshire Community Health Care now has vans to take out into the community and visit patients.

Jean Weld, oral public health manager for Hampshire Community Health Care, said: ‘We are thrilled to be able to offer this service. Treatment is carried out in the patient’s chair or wherever the patient is comfortable.’

The home service is available from Monday to Friday to anyone living in Portsmouth, Gosport, Fareham, Havant or Waterlooville.
