Newly-branded care home holds party in celebration

The Fareham care home, previously known as Parker Meadows, has recently celebrated its name change to Gracewell of Fareham.

Gracewell of Fareham invited the whole community to join staff, residents and their families as they celebrated the care home’s recent name change.

They hosted a purple-themed party, as purple is Gracewell Healthcare’s signature colour.

Guests were invited to dress in purple and enjoyed a performance from a magician and a live swing band.

With intentions to create closer ties to the local community, Parker Meadows recently became Gracewell of Fareham.

This initially attracted criticism but the company defended its decision.

They explained the move was part of a ‘company refresh’ ahead of it opening more homes across the country later this year.

The care home, in Redlands Lane, opened three years ago on the site of the former Tom Parker Dairies, with pupils from Redlands Primary School picking the name Parker Meadows.

The home has still maintained its links to the former dairy site, with its six new independent living bungalows being named after dairy cow breeds.

The gardens of the home are still known as Parker Meadows.

Gracewell of Fareham also provides residents and their families with an onsite hair and beauty salon and a cafe, serving gourmet snacks and various refreshments.

The name change, which was part of a nationwide initiative, is intended to bring together every home in Gracewell Healthcare’s portfolio, which is set to grow from 15 to 21 over the next year.
