Newlyweds tie the knot and take on race in style

NOT content with just simply tying the knot, loved-up couple Stephen and Donna Bridewell ran the Great South Run with their wedding party in all their finery for a good cause.

The couple, from Crawley, got married on Wednesday.

To mark the occasion and thank Macmillan, a charity that helped support Stephen’s mum Maggie when she was diagnosed with cancer, they decided to take on the 10 miles in their outfits, with their best man Neill Claringbold and their ‘vicar’ Nikki Channon, who was also seven-months pregnant.

They raised money on the way round and a jubilant Stephen even carried Donna across the finish line.

Stephen, 33, said: ‘It was so special for me. I was so happy to do this.’

Donna, 32, said: ‘It was great – a great atmosphere, it was fabulous.’

The group raised more than £700, with more from their bucket collections.
