HUNDREDS of American football fans enjoyed a build-up to the live games in London with a rally in Portsmouth.

The Guildhall hosted Sky Sports pundit Neil Reynolds along with former players from the NFL for the NFL UK Live tour.

Fans dressed in team jerseys packed into Guildhall to see performances from the Jacksonville Jaguars and listen to pundits ahead of this year’s season.

Fan Jack Matthews, from Southsea, went with friend Joe Blake. They both support the Dallas Cowboys.

Jack said: ‘It was a really good afternoon. I was excited when I heard the tour was coming to Portsmouth.

‘We have a lot of NFL fans here. It was great seeing the former players.’

Father and son Michael and Liam Talbot, who support the Green Bay Packers, said it was a good build-up to the London games. Liam, aged 13, added: ‘It has made me really excited for the season to start. I hope they do more of this.’

Outside in the square, fans were able to get a picture with a giant American football.
