A NEWSAGENTS put on a Halloween charity bake sale in a bid to replace money that was stolen a few weeks ago.
Jo Durham, the owner of Queens Parade News in Gosport, was devastated when raiders caused hundreds of pounds of damage when they broke in on Saturday, October 13.
Charity boxes in aid of Harbour Cancer Centre in Gosport, Wave 105 Cash for Kids and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air ambulance were all taken.
Jo and her 78-year-old mother Arlene made a variety of treats and tricks which were sold in their shop yesterday and raised nearly £300.
Jo said: ‘I am truly humbled that people have been so generous.
‘I had someone come in and pay £10 for three cakes.
‘It just goes to show how many people were hurt by what happened and it means I can give £100 for each charity.’
Jo added: ‘I always say my shop is your shop and people felt personally hurt.’
