A NURSE from Queen Alexandra Hospital is taking part in the Santa Dash in memory of a patient in her care.

Hannah Little, 45, has signed up for the Santa Dash around Southsea Common for a woman who had wanted to complete a run with her son.

Hannah promised to help her take part, but instead will be running in her memory after she passed away in the summer.

She will run on December 3 while wearing a Santa suit and hopes to raise funds for the kidney department at the QA. Hannah, from Horndean, said: ‘One of my patients had wanted to complete a half marathon and I said I would help her achieve this.’

Hannah is asking for support from the Portsmouth community as she takes on the run and for people to donate to the Renal Fund, part of Portsmouth Hospitals Charity.

The charity supports various departments through improving facilities within the hospital and providing additional equipment.

Hannah said: ‘I am asking for your support in raising some funds for smaller items of equipment to ensure patients are kept comfortable in the home dialysis training areas.’
