A CHARITY ball is being held on a pier tomorrow in aid of a holiday playscheme for disabled children.
Leaders of the Havant and District Holiday Venture Kelly Tennant and Kelly Mace have organised the ball in the Gaiety Bar, on South Parade Pier, Southsea, to raise cash for the children’s group.
There will be bands playing, a DJ, dancing, buffet food, games for the children and a raffle stuffed with prizes including a ride in a Porsche.
The event is also to celebrate the end of the annual three-week club for those aged six to 18 with mental and physical disabilities.
Kelly Tennant said: ‘It’s going to be a great laugh and it’s raising money for a good cause.
‘All the money we make will go towards the activities we organise for the children, things like cooking tutorials and swimming lessons, and to getting them new equipment.
‘We’ve already sold quite a few tickets and it looks like it’s going to be a really great evening.’
Tickets can be bought on the door for £2 per adult and it is free for children. Doors open at 7.30pm and guests are encouraged to dress in evening wear.
