If you’ve got time this week, pop down to Gunwharf Quays to see Collective Spirit, the boat made from donated bits of wood as part of the London 2012 Festival.
It’s going on a tour around the coastline and is a truly magnificent concept, even if the finished item is a little smaller than anticipated (by me).
I thought the most impressive thing was the number of crew it managed to unload when it pulled in, enough to sink it I’d have thought.
The mass choir which sang to welcome the boat to Portsmouth was very, very good, especially the children from Gosport (no bias, honestly) who didn’t look down at their words at all.
I’m not saying anything about any of the other schools. But the ones from our town were brilliant!
