Anyone strolling along Southsea seafront yesterday could have been mistaken for thinking they were in some sort of Christmas Twilight Zone.
There were not one, not two, but hundreds of Santas tearing about the place – and I was due to be one of them.
It was the final race of my running calendar for 2013, and one of the most fun to take part in.
After last year, I knew not to use too many safety pins to keep up my Santa trousers.
They stayed up then, but it was safety pin carnage when I needed a pit stop at the Eastney toilets.
I also knew exactly how hot I was going to get under the beard, hat and felt costume.
But it’s a great event that raises money for the RNLI and is a real high note on which to finish the year.
