STEVE CANAVAN: The case of the 'kitchen' door is open and shut

Have your say

Fans of the famous Anfield cat have been hoping that the match-day moggy will put in another appearance.

But that cat’s audacious bid for stardom didn’t leave me as agog as others who saw it wander on to the pitch during last week’s Liverpool v Spurs game.

Well, when you’ve seen a kamikaze hare play chicken with a Formula One car, you realise some animals are like X Factor contestants – stupidly desperate for their five minutes of fame.

The Anfield cat now has more than 20,000 followers on Twitter. But a spot of social networking almost wasn’t an option for my Silverstone hare.

If it wasn’t for the super-human reflexes of ex-F1 world champ Kimi Raikkonen, we’d have been looking at one squashed bunny.
