Child refugees: more cash is needed from the government

COMMENT: Government needs to dig deep to find extra cash

Have your say

My daughter is eight and has been puzzling over what the world will be like when she’s 40.

To show her advances in technology and society, we watched old programmes and adverts on YouTube.

Tears of laughter streamed down her disbelieving little face as she guffawed at the Sony Walkman portable cassette player, a 1980s semi-mobile phone, a Sinclair C5 and a Binatone tennis computer game (black & white).

In 1981, if someone had told you that in 33 years’ time you’d be able to find the answer to any question whilst talking face-to-face to someone in Australia from a device in the palm if your hand, you’d have been laughed into your Black Forest gateau.
