But I see it totally differently and always will '“ I absolutely love watching stories come to life on the screen, big or small, which is probably a good thing given that I work in TV myself.

Matt and I go to the cinema around once a week and easily get lost in a few hours of television a night. 

I don't see it as us wasting time, we love it.

This week we went to see Spike Lee's new movie BlacKKKlansman which is based on the true story of an American hero '“ the first African American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Although this was naturally a very significant development in history, for me it was what he went on to do with his time as a detective that really cemented his place in history.

Ron Stallworth went undercover to infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan; a disturbing and still-prevalent white power racist group.

Ron is played by Denzel Washington's son, John David Washington, who is absolutely brilliant in this movie.

And if you've not had the chance to witness him in action before, check out Dwayne Johnson, (aka The Rock's) television series Ballers where John plays an entitled and wealthy American Football player.

John is just like his superstar father Denzel. He is exceptionally talented, incredibly handsome and definitely one to watch.

The film is typical of Spike Lee '“ it's edgy and arty, but there are certain parts where I think they've tried too hard to be creative with the editing sequences when the film just didn't need it. 

But the storyline and acting is brilliant and I think they've done a great job of bringing the issue of racism to a new generation who might not have grown up understanding that racism is still very much rife.

It's incredibly raw to watch a movie about such cold and unfounded hate among human beings.

The Beckhams' photoshoot gave out wrong message 

Imagine if every time you took a selfie or a photo of you and your loved ones the world criticised and speculated that there was something wrong with it because of the way you posed.

That's how the Beckhams must feel because this week a bunch of photos have been released following an interview and photoshoot with Vogue magazine.

The couple's relationship has been tabloid fodder since they started dating and they've been dogged by '˜on-the-rocks' rumours. 

They had to defend the Vogue shoot after critics speculated about the state of their relationship because they were not pictured together on the front cover. 

Perhaps that was a slightly silly move.

It's not all glitz and glamour being a television director 

I'm due to go away this weekend filming for a new travel series I'm directing and I'm really excited.

We're off to India and then Abu Dhabi. I'm going to miss Matt and my family like crazy but I'm all about new adventures.

I'll be putting a new pin in the map we have hanging in our hallway that details where we've been in the world.

My job's not glamorous. Despite staying in some of the world's most incredible hotels, and despite being the director, I'll be  lugging bags of camera kit, sweating profusely and looking longingly out to the pool where the hotel guests will undoubtedly be frolicking in the sun by the pool.

Still, can't complain!
