I love showing off my gorgeous baby on Facebook | Cheryl Gibbs

I’ve become one of those mums who post constant photos on social media of their children.

I can’t help it if Harley is just so darn cute! She’s 11 weeks now and we’re enjoying her so much.

She’s getting a little personality and makes us laugh all the time.

We’re spending so much one-on-one time with her with no distractions that we’re noticing more about her than we may have done if life was normal, and I can’t help but try to capture it all on camera.

I post a lot of pictures on Facebook, but because uploading them means they’ll always be stored somewhere if I lose my phone.

Anyway, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

Even the smallest acts of kindness mean so much

I reported last week that Captain Tom Moore had raised more than £17m for NHS charities.

A week on and that figure is nearly at £30 million – what a blinding achievement!

On this note, what an achievement it also is to reach such a milestone!

Tom turns 100 next Thursday – happy birthday Tom from all of the UK who will be celebrating with you.

This may be a really difficult time, but I have loved witnessing the camaraderie and true British spirit by so many.

Great friends of ours, Donna Maplesden and Fred Dunaway, have started a social media campaign, #payitforwardfriday. As the name suggests, someone does something nice for someone else and then the favour is forwarded like a Mexican wave of love. What a brilliant idea.

As nice as it is to do something for someone with no expectations, I love the concept that you share the love with others and hopefully it spirals.

It could be something small like phoning someone you haven’t spoken too in a while, or buying a pint of milk for a neighbour.

Or it could be a grander gesture like what Donna and Fred did for some relatives and organised for a chef to make a three-course meal which was delivered to their homes, and sent chocolate hampers to others.

This was then paid forward when those people then did some acts of kindness which included phoning a friend they hadn’t spoken too in 20 years, paying for someone’s petrol at a garage, and making cakes and drawing pictures for neighbours. It doesn’t have to expensive.

As it’s #PayItForwardFriday today, I’ve put £20 in my sister’s bank to get a takeaway with a note for her to pay it forward to someone else.

Another family friend who doing acts of kindness is Phil the taxi driver.

Like most businesses, his has been hit incredibly hard, but instead of staying at home doing nothing, Phil is ferrying NHS nurses and doctors to work free of charge. What an incredible demonstration of kindness.

If you’re an NHS worker and need help getting to work, Phil can be reached on 07534 408106.

Get out and explore your area to keep anxiety at bay

There are only so many places to walk around Clanfield, but we’re trying to be inventive.

This week we put Harley in her sling and went for a walk through the bluebell woods, near the Rising Sun.

She fell asleep in her sling so, to be fair, from her point of view she could have been anywhere, but we liked it.

It gets a little boring going for a walk every day as opposed to doing normal things like shopping and seeing friends.

But I think people are appreciating where they live and have explored more of it then they would have done had it not been for Covid-19.

It helps combat the anxiety that creeps in when you think about how long this could go on for.
