Andrew Flintoff was a mighty cricketer, who will be remembered forever as the lynchpin of England’s Ashes triumph seven years ago.
He never fulfilled his full potential, however, because he lumbered through much of his career carrying too much weight. This almost certainly contributed to the stress placed on key joints, some of which crumbled under the strain and led to his early departure from the sport he had graced.
Now he is back – looking slimmer and fitter than he ever did in his prime – as he attempts to build a second career as a professional boxer.
Cricket enthusiasts will smile wryly and think what he could have achieved had he shown such dedication to fitness during his cricket career.
