Was it just me, or was Downton Abbey edited to within an inch of its life?
We were so excited about the Christmas Day two-hour special (which, after adverts, was 50 minutes long!)
You can hardly draw your breath watching it as the plots move so quickly. Blink and you’ll miss a whole storyline.
I would be more than happy for it to meander more, spending more time with the excellent characters rather than trying to cram so much into one episode.
A third series is on the way, but by the time it’s finished Downton Abbey will be open to the public and the Earl of Grantham will be mates with Prince William’s children. Slow it down, ITV.
