Electronic cigarettes should carry their own warnings

STEVE CANAVAN: The case of the 'kitchen' door is open and shut

Have your say

It’s been known for years that smoking causes all manner of carnage in your lungs and arteries and with the price of a pack of 20 costing a small fortune, people are turning to e-cigs in their droves.

But even they’ve started causing problems for the smoker.

Sixty-four-year-old Jean Booth from Sheffield had her face blown off when one allegedly ignited her oxygen supply at her hospital bedside. And 18-year-old Laura Baty had her arms and dress set on fire when her vapour stick exploded in a pub.

The irony is, after all the stress, I reckon they’ll be straight back on the oily rags.

And who can blame them – all of a sudden smoking seems a lot safer than putting a small IED in your mouth.
