Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell an Oscar

RICK JACKSON: Girl power rules – at the age of two

Have your say

Caitlin now loves to be read a book before bedtime.

Well actually, not just one book.

She would prefer it if we got through her whole collection each night.

I’m not sure if this is because she really likes being read to, and she’s showing early signs of being a bookworm, or if she is trying to delay the inevitable moment when I decide it’s time to go to sleep.

The thing is, I’m starting to know the words in all of her books off by heart because I’m reading them again and again, night after night.

So to make sure I don’t drift off to sleep myself I have to try and make the bedtime stories more interesting.

And story time is now more of a performance, as I change my voice for each of the characters.

I do a great fee-fi-fo-fum when we’re reading Jack and the Beanstalk.

An Oscar is obviously just around the corner.

But now, not only do I know all the words, but Caitlin does too.

So she’s started doing voices as well and does a great bee impression.

Think I’ll give her the Oscar.
