LESLEY KEATING: A white-knuckle pursuit ending with a lesson in trust

Have your say

With the festive season just around the corner and the shops packed wth gifts galore, here’s an idea.

Instead of shopping with the big multi-nationals, let’s buy presents for our loved ones and friends from small local businesses and self-employed folk.

The neighbour who sells things online, or perhaps a local craftsperson who makes beautiful handmade jewellery.

Maybe that creative florist down the road, or the confectioner who produces delicious homemade cakes and chocolates.

This year I’m going to make sure my money goes to individuals.

So please support people in your community, plus you’ll be saving yourself some dosh on petrol/bus fares and some shoe leather as well.
