Get the creosoting in before a barrage of sporting brilliance

Child refugees: more cash is needed from the government

COMMENT: Government needs to dig deep to find extra cash

Have your say

For many wives and girlfriends, it’s that time of year when light twinkles at the end of the tunnel…the football and rugby seasons are drawing to a close.

Players, fans, coaches and administrative staff regularly traipse around the country, pursuing their passion.

That vacuum will be quickly occupied by ‘jobs’. Decorating, gardening and trips to the tip become the mainstay of summer weekends, garnished with a visit to a distant aunt.

As interesting as ‘jobs’ are, remember this summer delivers a barrage of sporting brilliance. The Lions start their tour of Australia in June, there’s The Ashes in July, Wimbledon, British Grand Prix etc. Now is the time to creosote my friends.
