Glad I saw historic dockyard through the eyes of a visitor

Have your say

It’s quite hard, when you live in Portsmouth, to come up with new places to take visitors – mainly because most of my friends just want to do the shopping/luncheon thing at Gunwharf.

While I, like any self-respecting girl, love to do that, it’s nice to have a change.

So when a pal came to visit me from deepest, darkest Wales, I decided I needed to show her around the historic dockyard.

We did it all – HMS Warrior, HMS Victory, the outside of the new Mary Rose exhibition hall. I rarely get to see the dockyard through a visitor’s eyes, but I’m glad I did.

Hopefully we won’t have too long to wait until we can see the actual Mary Rose again when her new home is finished and all her artefacts are in place.
