Good luck marathon runners, you’re an inspiration to us all

CHERYL GIBBS: I’m half a stone lighter thanks to Joe

Tomorrow morning the majority of us will face a tough challenge... fried egg or poached, sausage, bacon or both? Then there are the others; thousands of incredible individuals taking on The London Marathon.

Training all winter to prepare for the 26.2 miles takes unfathomable dedication and commitment.

While you and I have been enjoying a glass of red and hot roast on soggy Sundays, they’ve been pounding the streets, getting their distances up.

There are many local athletes taking part, some for charity. Pompey’s Touchline Tony will be running something like his millionth mile for charity, a truly inspirational bloke. Whatever the reason, good luck – slow, steady and Vaseline wins the day.
