I hope my forecast broadcast hasn’t jinxed the weather

VERITY LUSH: Green shoots of recovery sprouting in northern Portsmouth

Have your say

I so hope I haven’t jinxed the weather. I remember a few years back predicting a white Christmas after getting a report from a now-defunct weather website.

I went on the radio in late November, bouncing up and down with excitement that we’d have snow on Christmas Day. Turned out to be 12 degrees with gales!

On Monday I broadcast news that reached us about a two-week heatwave, starting after the weekend. Non-stop sunshine with temperatures reaching 29 degrees. I also said that the authorities were having a drought crisis meeting.

Let’s hope the forecast is true, unlike last time. I hear Soothills Bakery in Fareham is currently making a large humble pie!
