Little Chef has decided to end its relationship with Heston Blumenthal and take his recipes off the menu.

Perhaps his different take on food did not appeal to the likes of the standard Little Chef customers – and perhaps Little Chef didn’t appeal to Heston’s core fans.

Whatever the reason, I’m amazed that people can still afford to buy food when on the road.

Aren’t we all packing picnics these days and standing in lay-bys in the drizzle to consume them?

I avoid most fast food joints, and all slow ones, with my family as it simply costs too much.

I do quite like the concept of burger vans though, seeing the food cooked there and then and customised for a good price. If only they sold something less fattening...
