It’s no surprise to me that coconut water has become Britain’s fastest-selling soft drink.
Madonna loves it so much she bought a company that makes it.
It has a somewhat salty, slightly sweet taste. But it’s been a big winner for me mainly as my post work-out drink.
Minerals are lost after exercise when you’ve worked up a sweat and one of the fabulous things about coconut water is it’s enriched with vitamins and minerals vital for nerve, muscle and brain function.
Curiously, in the Second World War it was often used as an intravenous drip because it’s similar to the composition of blood plasma.
It’s a bit like Marmite though. You either love it or detest it. Me? I’m quite simply going coco-nuts for it!
