What a coup! The first lady of football, Karren Brady, is going to be speaking at the business brunch at Portsmouth Football Club on Thursday morning.

I’m delighted. She’s probably best-known as Alan Sugar’s aide in The Apprentice, but she’s also the current vice-chairman of West Ham and daughter of former Pompey non-executive director Terry Brady.

I’m looking forward to hearing what she has to say about being the youngest managing director of a UK plc when she floated Birmingham City FC in 2002, as well as being the government’s small business ambassador (and hopefully she’ll be revealing a bit about what former Tottenham Hotspur CEO Sir Alan is really like away from the cameras).
