I’m recharging my batteries ready for a day with Peppa

Child refugees: more cash is needed from the government

COMMENT: Government needs to dig deep to find extra cash

Have your say

I’m writing this week’s column from sunny Tenerife. We’ve come here for a week of frolicking in the sun, sea and sand because after a few hectic but great months, we needed it.

Sometimes a change of scenery can recharge the old batteries and revitalise you. We opted for a cheap ‘bucket and spade’ holiday in a modest but pleasant three-star hotel and I’m loving just soaking up the rays and chilling.

I’m planning to do nothing in the next few days because the day after I get back next week, I’ll be going to Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park with my niece, who’s about to turn three.

No doubt the day will be absolute carnage – good carnage, but stressful all the same. So for now, it’s back to a dip in the pool.
