Have your say

It’s not often I have to dig up a column I wrote a year ago and revisit a subject.

In 2013 I wrote about reports there was going to be a global wine shortage as demand outstripped production considerably.

Oh, the horror.

Friends, family and regular readers might have an inkling by now that I’m partial to a glass of red wine or two.

So I was having a bit of a read about last Thursday’s Beaujolais Nouveau Day, when I came across an article that said the shortage was bunkum.

I must admit I’ve never struggled to keep the wine rack topped up, even with a horde of wine-loving friends to help drink my stores dry.

But thank goodness I don’t have to stock up, hoarding it as if some sort of zombie apocalypse was coming.
