I would have given birth in a carriage if it was that quick

Did you hear the fabulous story of the lady who gave birth on a train?

It sounds like the opening of a joke, but it really did happen last week.

The lady in question had been sent home from a hospital appointment and went into a 15-minute labour in a train carriage.

Fifteen minutes – how amazing is that? Even better, there was a midwife on board to help assist with the birth.

Luckily the guard was able to persuade people to leave the carriage, and it was all over in about 30 minutes.

I think I would gladly have given birth on a train if it was that quick.

But unfortunately my labours were long enough to give me time to get from one end of the country and back, even allowing for snow delays.
