If a library book is boring, I can simply stop reading it

LESLEY KEATING: A white-knuckle pursuit ending with a lesson in trust

Have your say

I’m delighted to report that I have fallen back in love with my local library. For some reason, a few years have passed since I regularly took out books, but I’m well and truly back into the habit of borrowing after looking at my bank account.

I’m normally an avid hoarder of books, but now I’m avidly hoarding stories instead.

Plus, it’s even better because if I don’t like what I’m reading, I don’t have to finish it (because I haven’t paid for it).

Instead I can cast it aside in a frivolous manner, instead of forcing myself to carry on to the bitter end.

And here’s a recommendation for you all – you’ll find it in the teen section – Being Billy by Phil Earle. It’s awesome and, even better, pretty short.
