Have your say

Dr Who is back, but he’s been firmly usurped in our household by Leonardo.

This is a new BBC kids’ show which, with wild artistic licence, tells the story of Master daVinci as a teenager, running wild with the boys, inventing bicycles and wowing the crowds.

It’s challenging stuff for my historical knowledge as I’m not sure what’s fact and what’s fiction.

There isn’t a determining moment which says ‘we made this up for your entertainment’. At least with the Dr it’s all couched as entertainment.

Now the BBC is straying into the dark territory where history is casually mixed with personality in a kids’ show for the sake of a good story.

Time to teach the children about pinches and salt.
