Hello from Turks and Caicos!
I’m writing this stood on the docks on Parrot Cay island, having just docked after being on board a luxury yacht for the day.
I’m here filming a luxury travel series, so being on a private yacht cruising the Caribbean is pretty much as exclusive as you can get.
It’s been non-stop since I left Portsmouth last Friday, but I have to say this has been one of the more glamorous shoots I’ve been on.
Not that it hasn’t had its moments where I’ve contemplated what the heck I’m doing here.
For instance, attempting paddle-boarding in a bikini whilst the director shoots away and I’m wondering (in between falling off three times – you know how clumsy I am) how I get myself into these situations.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m up for most things. But there’s a reason why I’m the one attempting to ride the waves looking less than flattering. The director is clearly smarter than me.
A huge fish (and I mean huge, with shark-like features) just appeared out of nowhere!
That footage is going to haunt me, for sure!
Today I took a Go Pro camera into the ocean and snorkelled, attempting to get images of the coral reef and fish.
It was a fab experience, although I did almost panic at one point when I realised how far from the yacht I’d gone.
Then a huge fish (and I mean huge, with shark-like features) just appeared out of nowhere! I returned to the yacht shortly after.
We stayed on the mainland at Providence for two nights before coming over to the exclusive private island of Parrot Cay. It’s truly remarkable and I can see why it’s a favourite for lots of celebrities.
I’ve seen two big stars since I’ve been here, but I’ve been sworn to secrecy. All I can say is that one of them is a huge A-lister.
Talking of celebs, this island is full of private villas owned by the stars, including Bruce Willis and Keith Richards.
I was lucky enough to be given access to fashion designer Donna Karan’s home and we filmed it as part of a new TV pilot.
There’s no better word than ‘wow’ to describe a property that’s listed for $39million!
