I have to hand it to the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth.
Although the theatre is absolutely freezing, the tickets are well-priced and they do put on a good show.
I was lucky enough to visit twice last week.
The first was for The Last Stand – an amazing portrayal of Captain Scott’s ill-fated expedition to Antarctica performed by Portsmouth company Tinder Theatre.
If you get a chance to see this hour-long show, please do go, if only to see the Norwegian huskies in action (they’re not real by the way, just excellently depicted).
The second occasion was for Sing Sing Sing by The Three Belles – a beautiful trio who delighted the audience with a selection of songs and drama set in the Second World War era.
