It’s that time again - prepare for attack of Wimbledon-itis

If we must have cuts we need to know exactly why

Have your say

Prepare for Wimbledon-itis over the next few weeks.

It’s a rare condition suffered by normally sedentary people. Symptoms include searching in the understairs cupboard for an old tennis racket, heading off to local courts to smash a few limp balls into the stratosphere and then returning racket to said cupboard for another 12 months.

Having played regularly a few years back, it was always good to see a gaggle of new faces at the courts during the Wimbledon fortnight.

Some would play and stay, others would have one set and never be seen again.

Respect to the LTA. By building the new indoor tennis centre at Alexandra Park, thousands will get a chance to play all year round.
