Apparently one in five pet owners give their furry friends presents at Christmas.
My wife is guilty of this, as she purchased a doggy stocking from the local pet shop to give to Daisy, our Patterdale terrier.
This is crazy behaviour. They’re animals!
I completely realise they’re much-loved members of the family, but they’re still animals and all Daisy wants at Christmas is some stroking, cuddles and a long walk on the beach.
Even more ridiculous is the fact that Daisy ‘buys’ my dad’s dog Charlie a present and Charlie also replies with a present for Daisy.
Perhaps they could take things one stage further and phone each other up on Christmas morning for a doggy chat?
